Starting something new

So starting something new today and trying to do a short blog or post about what research activities that I am up to or what things I do find interesting.

Today, I am up in Sutherland to test out a new SBIG camera with tip-tilt capability on the small telescopes.  With the help of the SAAO staff, Laure and I installed the camera on the telescope.   Despite today’s horrible weather, the weather is predicted to be good for the rest of the week, so hopefully tomorrow night we can start taking some data.

Ih the meantime, I’ve been trying to clean out a lot of things on my to-do list including setting up a script to record weather information in SALT’s science database, looking at missing FITS header keywords, and starting some work on the ccdproc library for astropy.
