A very initial result from the data reduction from my SAAO 1m run looking for Hα in RESOLVE galaxies. The idea is to provide a calibration set to determine how well SALT Fabry Perot measurements can be used to measure the flux along with the motions of the galaxy.
In the image, blue represents Hα flux whereas the other colors represent the stellar distribution in the galaxy. This is definitely a ‘false color’ image in the sense that Hα is actually red with a wavelength of 656.4 nm and along with the fact that I played with the color balance to really make the Hα standout.
